Manager, Mobile Software Development

The PayPal Mobile team builds the latest products for our users that are using PayPal on the go or at home away from a computer. We are looking for new members of our technical staff to build cutting edge products and launch the next phase of PayPal's mobile presence.
As a Manager of the Mobile Software and UI Engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping PayPal's mobile web experience by gaining intimate knowledge of PayPal's product and mobile vision, lead a team of software and UI engineers, and drive multiple projects successfully through the development lifecycle.
Primary tasks will be as follows:
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define and plan our roadmap for delivering the next generation mobile application experiences.
- Assess and estimate development projects. Plan out development schedules, track against key milestones, and update key stakeholders throughout the development cycle.
- Facilitate and drive key technology decisions and new initiatives.
- Work with application architects and the core UI Engineering team to identify and build efficient and reusable UI patterns, as well as help define the overall strategy of mobile web development.
- Participate in design, use case and code reviews.
- Facilitate the investigation of live application issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Promote innovation and leadership within the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong experience leading teams in building and debugging large scale, high performance mobile-optimized web applications for a wide range of mobile platforms.
- Passion to push the boundaries of mobile development to create innovative solutions.
- Familiarity with (desktop) web and mobile technologies.
- Be the advocate for software and UI engineering best practices and demand nothing less than the best designs that will delight our customers.
- Comfortable with working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment with short turnaround times.
