Mobile Software Development Manager

The PayPal Mobile team builds the latest PayPal products targeted for mobile consumers, merchants and developers. You will be part of this dynamic, fast paced group, which develops these exciting products and enriches them with new features the Mobile industry has yet to see!
We are looking for an exceptional and hands-on development manager with 7+ years of industry experience with a strong command of Mobile application development (i.e. iPhone and/or Android) as have familiarity with latest Mobile web technologies. The individual should be able to demonstrate leading a team in a fast paced and fluid environment. Familiarity with payments industry is a plus. Excellent communication skills are required for this position.
You and your team will design and develop PayPal's mobile applications. Your mission will be to build and manage a world-class team and to create PayPal's next generation of high-value, easy to use mobile applications.
Specifically, you will:
- Build and manage a world class team of mobile application developers
- Help define and drive PayPal's mobile application technology strategy
- Work with product managers, UI designers and your team to create a compelling application and great user experience
- Encourage innovation and keep up with industry trends in technology
Basic Qualifications
- BSCS/MSCS or equivalent
- 7+ years software development experience with recent emphasis on mobile applications
- 3+ years engineering management experience
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, highly productive engineering teams
- Technical and people leadership skills
- Deep knowledge and experience with mobile smart phone platforms (iOS, Android)
- Experience with client side web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, Ajax, etc)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with remote development teams
- Ability to work in a fast paced, complex development environment with short turn-around times.
