Established in 1995 and based in California's Silicon Valley with European headquarters in Edinburgh our client develops rock solid mobile communication software (client and server) for smartphone and tablet devices. Considered as industry experts they have established numerous OEM relationships as well as a strong global base of industry-leading strategic partners and technology partners.
As a Senior Developer for their high profile mobile messaging software, you will be working across a range of projects which deliver communications software pre-installed on 100s of millions of devices per year. You will be a key member of a small team that is focused on delivering software into the hands of end-users through agile development practices, with minimal red-tape and bureaucracy.
As an expert Mobile Developer (Java / Android) you will play an instrumental role, whether it is collaborating on technology choices and design decisions, developing new features, enhancing existing ones or providing ongoing maintenance and support.
To qualify... Your CV must be able to demonstrate the following:
• Previous experience of Android development including UI development, data storage, multithreading, and HTTP/TCP server communication.
• Be currently resident in Edinburgh or within commutable distance to Haymarket.
• Solid Java OO programming.
• 1st or 2:1 degree in a Computing related field.
• Debugging and profiling J2ME and Dalvik applications.
• User interface design.
• Developing custom Canvas-based UI components.
• Development with Eclipse and Ant.
In return you should expect a competitive salary of up to £45k (dependent on experience), flexible working hours, company phone, and employee share options. This role also includes opportunity for travel within the USA, Asia and Europe, working with multinational technology partners on bespoke projects.
