AccuWeather has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead for our mobile products. The technical lead will manage a team of mobile developers across multiple platforms to ensure that products are delivered on time, with high quality, and based on best industry coding practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works closely with management team, product management, and technical team to gather information about product intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems.

Leads and participates in the following activities:

*Design of program specifications based on consultations with mobile team, programmers, and end users *Conversion of designs and specifications into computer code *Compilation of code into programs and correction of errors detected in compile process *Development of test transactions and test scripts to find errors and confirm program meets specifications *Code analysis to identify causes of errors and revise programs *Documentation for all application development efforts and changes to computer code, programs, and specifications *Review of mobile SDKs and technical documentation written by others to identify potential for new capabilities/features *Technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs *Revision of programs for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes *Training and coaching of mobile developers *Optimization and maintenance of software programs written by others *Adheres to the Systems Engineering quality guidelines including industry coding best practices *Maintains a high degree of technical competence in the area of mobile development tools *Provides project leadership for all mobile product development efforts *Works closely with management to prioritize projects based on company strategic initiatives and level of effort

REQUIREMENTS:

*Four year degree in Computer Science or other related fields. *Five years of experience as a mobile developer with a track record of quality software development and efficient code writing for applications used by millions of users *Three years of experience managing developers *Experience with iOS, Android, Microsoft Mobile 7, RIM, J2ME, BREW, Palm OS, Symbian, or other mobile technologies *Expertise in some or all of the following: iOS, JAVA, J2ME, SQL, C++, Perl, Cocoa, BREW, XML, UML, Palm OS, Symbian *Familiarity with Source Control (i.e. CVS, Subversion, Microsoft TFS) and industry standard testing frameworks *Familiarity with IDEs such as Xcode, Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ, and Aptana
